The Itinerary
Thursday through Sunday.
Soul of the Valley unfolds over four carefully paced days. Rather than packing the schedule, we've built in space — so each practice has room to land, and so rest is part of the design, not an afterthought.

Thursday · Day 01
The Welcome Table
We open at Soul of the Valley with a wood-fired culinary experience as the sun sets over the ridge. Expect locally sourced rainbow trout or Angus tenderloin, filleted tableside, served alongside heirloom tomato salad and a warm peach-and-blackberry cobbler. More than a dinner, the welcome table is where twelve strangers become a small community — slow, warm, and together as the first stars appear.
Friday · Day 02
The Art of Slowness
Friday belongs to stillness. The morning centers on a Japanese tea mindfulness session at the Understory Tea House, where gongfu brewing and mindful matcha become a practice in doing nothing well. It's a deliberate counterweight to a life lived at speed — a guided reset for an overstimulated nervous system, and for many guests, the moment the retreat truly begins to work.
Saturday · Day 03
Movement & Energy
Saturday moves the body and the energy through it. The day opens with tai chi silhouetted against the peaks at first light, flowing into restorative reiki and a sound therapy session designed to release what the week — or the year — has been holding. This is the heart of the retreat: a full day given to ease, breath, and the body's own intelligence.
Sunday · Day 04
The Farewell Ritual
We close as we opened — together, around a table. The farewell ritual at sunrise brings artisanal bread, handmade herb butter, and a revisiting of the intentions set on the first night. Poured over it all: FB Roasters coffee and a nutrient-dense spread worth waking for. You leave with a full body, a quieter mind, and a ritual or two to carry home.

About the Experience
Each of the four days follows its own theme. Thursday is arrival and a wood-fired welcome dinner; Friday is Japanese tea mindfulness and slowness; Saturday is sunrise tai chi, reiki, and sound therapy; Sunday is a farewell ritual breakfast. Days are intentionally unhurried, with free time woven between guided sessions so you're never rushed.
No. Every session is an invitation, not an obligation. Many guests do everything; others choose to rest, read, or simply take in the valley. The retreat is designed to restore you, and that includes the freedom to opt out of anything that doesn't serve you.
The retreat includes Japanese tea mindfulness, tai chi, restorative reiki, and sound therapy, alongside intention-setting rituals at the start and close. These practices are beginner-friendly and led by experienced guides — no prior experience is needed.
Gently. Tai chi is low-impact and suitable for most fitness levels, and the rest of the programming is restorative rather than strenuous. If you have specific health concerns, we recommend consulting your physician and letting us know in advance so we can support you.
The four-day arc and core practices are the signature of Soul of the Valley, but specific menus, guides, and details may evolve to deliver the best possible experience. Confirmed guests receive a finalized itinerary before arrival.
